Having received a phone call from a client referral and being asked whether I would be interested in assisting in the development of a new retail business venture, and then to hear the working title of this new venture, who could say "NO" with a name like that?
And as one can say, "The rest is History". I was directly responsible for all visual design aspects and in articulating, creating and authoring the business brand. My services included the initial Business Identity design, typographic specification, language & Naming conventions, product & Service selection, Sales & Marketing Collateral, Integrated Advertising Strategies, Packaging and POP materials, Interior & Exterior signage, Website Design, Interior Design, bespoke Fixtures & Furnishings, all culminating with the successful opening of the first retail store.
I engaged the services of Architect Douglas Miller, who masterfully understood and interpreted the visual language and working collaboratively, we designed and executed an exceptional and visionary retail space. The "Madaboutfood" dream was realized! For more on the store.
Footnote: After operating successfully for several years, the owner decided to sell the retail portion of her business in order to concentrate on new business initiatives. The brand has seen many avenues and iterations over the years and has become synonymous with the Vancouver Foodie scene.
Always on the lookout to work with talented people and great ideas.
